A celebration, Mr. Blue Sky's up there waitin', and today is the day we've waited for
So, did anyone else go to the anti-Scientology protests? We did, and promptly were IRL rickrolled.
I have footage of the event, but so does this guy and his is already up online.

...Did ya spot us? See, the missus isn't the only one who can pop up in Anon's vids.
It was actually a pretty good day in Dublin, and for those of you who've never seen it, that's O' Connell Street in most of the shots. That's our Times Square. I have to say, the Irish take to being part of Anonymous like ducks to water. After all, we famously IRL trolled the British for centuries, and Anonymous delivers the opportunity to combine two of our favorite things: balaclavas and obnoxiousness.
Epic IRL lulz, of course. I'm just wondering what phase two is going to be...

Phase two for us, however, was going to see Cloverfield. Well, actually, it was the bookstore, but I wanna talk about Cloverfield first, because it was well worth the wait. If I had known there was gonna be bugs the size of German Shepherds... Oh well. On the way into the cinema, there's warnings that the shaky camera can produce motion sickness. I've never had that problem with handheld footage, personally, but they weren't kidding when they said it was like a rollercoaster. Not in the getting sick way, but in the feeling that the movie is a lot like a theme park ride. You're in your seat, and you have no control where the camera goes. Through the streets, down the subway tunnels, up a collapsing building, in a helicopter. Seriously, all that's missing is a warning to keep your hands inside at all times.
Cinematically, it's an experience that hasn't been done before. Oh, we've all seen Blair Witch before, but to compare Blair Witch to Cloverfield is like comparing a polite, civilized discussion to the Battle of Stalingrad. Where Blair Witch was all hype and no show, Cloverfield doesn't fail to deliver on its promises. Until now, the idea of shooting false document films was an excuse to pass for realism while cheating out on the compromises that come with a small budget. Cloverfield shows what you can do if you throw a small-budget idea into a big budget film.
Sequel? Yes, I said, yes, I will, yes.

And from the bookstore, I gladly came home with a collection of Lovecraft's more obscure stories, as well as "Shadows Over Baker Street", a collection of Sherlock Holmes short stories featuring the master detective in Lovecraft's world. Nice!

A good day had by all.
Except Scientologists, I guess.

You're not. Daylight and digital video can be a very unflattering mix for all involved =p

Spot us here! You're in several, I'm in one (as far as I can tell). Dammit, I need to be a foot taller. ...it's suddenly amusing me that I've spent a while today avidly looking for pictures of myself or you at an 'anonymous' protest.

You look average-sized to me, though in those you're not helped by standing next to a skinny girl and wearing baggy clothes.
